In a simplistic sense the role of the artist is to cultivate inspiration, to stay inspired and to incite creative flow. A great way to do this, seeing as every individual has a different outlook and a different set of interests, is to make or show a connection that will allow an observer to discover and explore for themselves. Humans are pattern seeking creatures (excuse the cliche) and it is my belief that all affective works of art involve representing familiar patterns while teaching new ones. Art always involves an establishment of context followed by stimulating aesthetic and conceptual variations. In my work I desperately try to avoid stale and lifeless imagery, I go above and beyond to provide a richness of visual input. I want to provide a visual experience that is immersive, mystifying and aesthetically rewarding.
